1927-1944
Served as a Lancaster rear gunner with No 9 Squadron R.A.F. Flew 30 missions including the bombimg of the Infamous German battleship Tirpitz. Shot down two German night fighter aircraft (M.E. IIO & JU 88) Killed along with the five other members of his crew on the last mission of their tour, when their Lancaster WS- V for Victor was shot down. Crashed and buried in Holten, Holland the 23th September 1942. Was posthumously awarded the 1944-45 Star & The France Germany Star.
