B. 4 : Richard HAMBLY.Born in St Cleer Cornwall 29th October 1861, was christened in St Cleer Cornwall, December 2nd 1861 married Agnes Kings Own Royal Regiment. The first of whom left home on the 16th of March and travelled to the South Africa battles from Southampton on the SS Tagus. He was killed in South Africa after being kicked by a mule.) Born in Millom Cumberland in 1883, died in 185 Albert Street Millom the 13 May 1952 John Charles Hambly ( also known as Jack) lived with his parents at 118 Albert Street until his marriage at the age of 27 to Ruth Boulton of Whicham Mill on the 14 April 1910 at Whicham Parish Church . Was known to be living at 124 Albert Street in 1912 later bought 185 Albert Street where with the exception of his war service years he lived until his death . Served in Eygpt with the Royal Artillery during W.W.1 as a driver. No 229417.Recieved the Great War Medal. Was the Auditor for the Duddon branch of the Oddfellows Society after passing his auditors exam on the 11th March 1922. Was made a life member of the British Legion on Feb 12th 1948 )
